A quick search of "place setting" on accessCeramics.com lead me to the artist
Heather Mae Erickson. I was immediately drawn to the dramatic lines and minimal pallet Erickson employs in
her work. I can only imagine food looking very sexy on this ware. The use of multiples on a single platter really speaks to the communion that occurs when sharing a meal together. It creates an intimacy through act of sharing a meal and sharing a centralized platter. - I enjoy the fact that placement was taken into consideration, and that there are notches in platters to accept spoons and "comets" as well as the shapes of certain dishes can nestle in to one another .
Though, I don't believe these pieces are intended as table ware "The Wanderers" by
Gudrun Klix could be inspiration for an interesting and playful table setting. There is an aspect of this piece that is a vessel, I can imagine variousness organic creature-esque platters and plates, bowls and cups "crawling" around a dinner table.
