I was initially drawn to going in an art nouveau floral direction, then I started looking at art nouveau and then at flowers and eventually flower tattoos and I became really inspired, So now I am completely attached to the idea of doing a sculpture of stacked flowers. As you may or may not know flowers have their own language in the way that almost all of them have a meaning with their origins going way back. I made a few sketches but I am leaning towards a stacked arrangement of A martha peony(healing), a tulip(forgiveness), a gerbra daisy(loyal love) and a Calla lily(innocence). As far as being a tulip vase I want the flowers to go into the stigma and stamens of each flower.
I like Rain Harris' ability to realistically represent the flora, while I am also really drawn to the more abstract styles of Kent Kraus and Rebecca Stevenson.
I also really like the shape of this tulip vase. |
